Click to Accept
Click to Accept lets your depositors review and sign their new Terms & Conditions online, through a secure link sent from Program Transitions. There are no documents to send, chase, or mark by hand. Acceptances are recorded automatically, and each signed agreement moves the account forward in your transition. Your NBID team is available at every step.
Before you start
Click to Accept uses information you've already provided in Program Transitions:
- Your T&C templates, chosen in Transition Materials. These are either your own templates or the NBID standard agreements.
- A signer and email address for every account, from your Upload Data files. Upload Data flags any row with a missing or invalid email so you can fix it before sending.
- Your bank's branding, which appears on every email and on the acceptance page.
How it works
- Turn on. Confirm Click to Accept in Transition Materials.
- Notify. Send your depositors a notice email.
- Send. Send acceptance links from each wave.
- Track. Watch acceptances come in automatically.
Step 1: Turn on Click to Accept
In Transition Materials, Click to Accept is the default method for signing T&Cs. An authorized user confirms the election, which directs NBID to present your Terms & Conditions to your designated signers and record their acceptance on your behalf.
Step 2: Send your notice email
Before any links go out, send your depositors a heads-up from your bank's own email address. Use the Click to Accept: Depositor Notice Email template in your Internal Materials. It tells depositors to expect an email from [email protected], that it only takes a few minutes, and that their relationship with your bank is not changing.
Send the notice a few days before the links so depositors recognize the NBID email when it arrives.
Step 3: Send acceptance links
- Open the wave and go to the T&Cs tab.
- Click Send to all in wave, or select specific accounts and send to those.
Each depositor gets one email, sent to their primary signer, covering all of that depositor's accounts in the wave.
What your depositor receives
- The email. It comes from [email protected] on your behalf, with your institution's name and logo, asking them to review and accept their new Terms & Conditions.
- The link. It's secure, personal to the signer, and works for one acceptance only. It expires if unused.
What your depositor does
- Opens the link to a page branded to your bank that addresses them by name.
- Reviews the full Terms & Conditions, including their account details, the agency appointment, and their bank exclusions. They must scroll to the end to continue.
- Completes three steps, with nothing pre-selected:
- Confirms or edits their bank exclusion list.
- Confirms they've reviewed the terms and are authorized to sign for the depositor.
- Clicks I accept and sign. The text above the button explains that this click electronically signs the terms, appoints your bank as their agent, confirms their exclusions, and consents to receiving program records electronically.
What happens after they accept
- The depositor sees a confirmation page where they can download their signed copy and an acceptance receipt.
- The signed agreement is stamped on every page with the signer's name and the date and time of acceptance.
- The signed agreement and receipt are emailed to the depositor.
- The depositor is told their new account is being set up and to keep using their current account until it's ready.
Accepting doesn't open the account. Your team still opens it, and the depositor portal invite goes out when the account is opened, just as it does today.
How it shows in Program Transitions
- T&Cs tab. Status updates on its own, from Not Sent to Awaiting Signature to Signed. An indicator shows whether a depositor has opened their link, so you can follow up through their relationship manager.
- Reminders. Depositors who haven't accepted get automatic reminders 3 and 7 business days after the first send, with nothing for your team to do. You can resend a link to any depositor at any time.
- Open tab. Once an account is Signed, it moves to the Open tab automatically. From there, open and fund it as usual.
- Account opportunities table. In the Transition Summary, scroll the table to the right to download each account's signed T&C and receipt.
- Transition Materials. Every signed agreement and receipt is stored here, available to download individually or in bulk.
What's on the acceptance receipt
The receipt records the institution, the depositor, the document and its version, a fingerprint of the signed file, the date and time of acceptance, the signer's name and email, their confirmation of review and authority, their consent to electronic delivery, their exclusion election, and the sent and accepted times along with the accepting IP address.
